Clensa was formed in 2013 and it is the only one of its kind in the UK cleaning industry. A number of early adopters of the scheme are already enjoying the benefits and with our membership set to reach 1100 members by the end of 2014 we are the UKs fastest growing accreditation body.

We don't tie you in to any contracts. We try to keep you as a member the old fashioned way, by making sure you love the services we provide and the value for money your receive.

Is CLENSA for a particular type of cleaning business?
No. CLENSA is open to any business which providers cleaning services of any kind. We are mainly aimed at general cleaning and contract cleaners for domestic, commercial and industrial settings but the benefits of membership and the accreditation schemes are relevant to wider scopes of cleaning services such as window cleaning, floor cleaning, post builder cleaning and many more.
What do I need to become a member?
To become a member of CLENSA you simply need to meet our entry criteria. Take a look at our Application Form for a better understanding of what's required. CLENSA membership is just a baseline assessment of your business in relation to basic cleaning standards. Our optional 6 accreditation schemes go in to further depth with regards to your management systems and the controls and procedures you have in place to manage risk and deliver services to a high standard. The important thing to remember is that we don’t expect you to be perfect, we only expect you to make a commitment to meeting the minimum standards and then embarking on a journey of continuous improvement whilst you remain a member. We will support you and provide resources to assist you with achieving the standards and passing your assessment.
What happens if my application isn’t successful?
Our job is to help you to differentiate yourself from cowboy cleaners and rogue traders, so if you are genuinely looking to improve your business then we will support you to achieve the standards we expect but if you can’t demonstrate the evidence we require even after our support then you may not be able to become a member. Can I cancel my membership if I'm not happy?
Yes. You can cancel your CLENSA membership at any time if you're not happy. Simply let us know in writing (On business letter-headed paper or by email as long as it is sent from the email account we have on record). You will be required to remove all associations with CLENSA and our accreditation schemes from your marketing and other stationery.
Can I pay for the membership monthly?
Yes, CLENSA accepts payments monthly by direct debit. We don’t take or hold your card details. Everything is managed securely through our service provider 'GoCardLess' and as it’s a direct debit service you can cancel it anytime with your bank. If you do cancel the payments be sure to discuss your membership status with us first.
